Student Success Statement

I am not sure what I am getting from this statement; I don’t clearly or fully understand it. What I can conclude from the statement is that when you are listening and taking notes you can do both at the same time equally and fully. Like say, in order to take notes you must be a good listener, well vice versa; in order to listen well you must take notes. I think that is all I understand from this statement. Maybe it is saying that if you are the type to take notes, you surely are a great listener.
