Student Success Statement -Robert E. Lee

Student Success Statement

You have only always to do what is right. It will become easier by practice, and you enjoy in the midst of your trials the pleasure of an approving conscience.

-Robert E. Lee

When is the right time to do what is right? When do we stop? What time do we choose the right? Always—the answer is always. You will never have enough time to do what is right. Never stop and think or question what you are doing, if you know it Is right, it is right! Don’t think about backing out,  it only gets easier with practice. Lets say your friend is stuck in the middle of a blazing fire-- What do you do? Go back and save her? Or leave safely while you can? DONT THINK ABOUT IT. "you have only always to do what is right". Well, do what is right-- go back for your friend because you know in your conscience that you are doing the right thing, even though you might suffer some grueling consequences. Even though the outcome or consequences of doing what is right, is not what you want, you will have that feeling of good “approving conscience”. The fact that you feel good about it, makes everything else not matter. So at the end, you only have so much time in your life, to do the right thing. Don’t choose the wrong—there is no time for that!
