Student Success Statement
“When I was teaching basketball, I urged my players to
try their hardest to improve on that every day, to make that practice a
masterpiece”
This
rule is even more important in life than basketball. You have to apply yourself
each day to become a little better. By applying yourself to the task of
becoming a little better each and every day over a period of time, you will
become a lot better. Only then will you be able to approach being the best you
can be. It begins by trying to make each day count and knowing you can never
make up for a lost day.”
--John Wooden
When
you put a little more effort into what you are doing, you will see the effort
as an outcome later in the future. If
you can only do 1 push up at a time, but the test requires you to do 7. You
push yourself more and more every day until you can achieve doing 7 at one
time. Without practicing you will get nowhere; you will stay the same. If you don’t
apply yourself each day to strive for better, you will see no improvement. In a
matter of time you will be better and better, only by being and doing the best
you can, will get any better. So, ‘make each day count’ put in your best effort
and go out there and reach for the top and I promise you, one day you will be
at the top!
