Student Success Statement - John Wooden

Student Success Statement

“The Three Don’ts”

Don’t Whine

Don’t Complain

Don’t Make Excuses

Yes, you might choose the right. You might obey your parents, you might do all your homework, you never miss a day at school. But it won’t be doing the right thing if you complain and whine about doing these things. For example, let’s say you have a huge project given to you on Wednesday and it is due this Friday. So what is the right thing to do? Just do it. But, if you start making excuses and whining about the project, then you are not at all choosing the right. You can come to school almost every single day, but the fact that you complain about it and make excuses makes it wrong. If you are going to do something, do the right thing, and do it without whining, complaining, and making excuses!
