This
statement is particularly very smart because it tells/says that the only way
you can be truly free and independent is by doing what is right, choosing the right, again it is stating
that lying, cheating, and other wrong doing and choosing the wrong will all
just lead to the same thing—no being/ feeling free. You will not be truly
independent if you do not set yourself free of all wrong and compel yourself to
