I’m not certain
what this statement means. I think what Elizabeth meant to express was that you
cant lie forever, or you cannot depend on your lies/lying. Eventually the truth
always comes out, it always catches up to you. I guess this means to not lie.
You should not lie for anything because sooner or later it will all come back
to you. So you want to be in the truth, the safe. The ‘safe ground’ they talk
about is the truth, that is where you want to stand and stay. Do not lie because
it is not right or safe.
